Chess Display Software

Sort:
Javacodeman

I'm starting a chess club at my child's school this fall.  I'm looking for some software that I can display.  Preferably, it would allow markups of arrows, highlights of cells, etc.  I've read that Fritz 13 has this capability.  I assume that the new Fritz 15 does too.

Questions:

1.  Is there any free or discounted software for educational purposes like this?

2.  Is there a way of getting a trial version of Fritz 15?  (I saw some sketchy sites offering a trial, but I don't want a virus.)

3.  Is there a lower cost (possibly less powerful) chess software that you'd recommend besides Fritz?  I don't need all the bells and whistles this first year.

Thanks in advance.

You can draw with SCID or SCID vs PC but it is a little rough around the edges but would work once you learn to do what you want.

As a platinum member, you could also use the Live Analysis board here:

Awesome.  I think I'll just use Chess.com's.  I was messing around with one and gave it a name.  My connection hot hosed.  How do I find previously used boards?  Is there a "save" command that I needed to have executed?

Thanks.

I don't think you can save Live analysis boards. The ones in Learn > Analysis have a Share link and you can use that to get back to them I think, though I've never tried it in that manner before.
