Teaching a way to count the number of defenders and attackers probably won't be nesssicary, they would probably just be able to calculate it themself after some games. It might be more effective letting them learn themselves.

Do you think it's effective way for beginner kids to improve ,if you will teach the method of counting how many attackers and defenders to determine if you will win the exchange? Or it's better for them to determine if they will win the exchange by pure calculation?
