Minimum Age for chess.com

There are already too many kids on Chess.com, clogging up the forums with their juvenile behaviour.

@Sikander2020 I understand where you are coming from but I feel like most peoples problems are how the kids are being treated and if it's appropriate

My problem is with how kids behave. Not kids like you who understand how to discuss things in a mature and responsible way. I just get irritated by the juvenile behaviour on the forums. It's exclusionary and deters me from going on Chess.com as an adult.

Well,I guess you are right,chess.com should keep any age allowed to play but restrict their forum activities like those below 13 should not be allowed to view forums other than the general chess discussions like openings etc

And? many kids I know who are on chess.com are more cultured and active than most adults, and they're definitely under 13. If chess.com would lose such a thing quite a bit of the atmosphere here would be lost. This is a place for people to learn and grow, not to have silly restrictions based off their age.

Once the kids know how to use iphone, they will browse any website.

Yes,what I am saying is that on chess.com anyone below 13 should join from parents email so that their parents can monitor what their kid is exactly doing on chess.com

This I would agree with. However, I know some kids under 13 that could probably beat you or me... happy.png

Yes, I agree with that

I would not like to be monitored, but I agree kids should be monitored, but kids who know they should not give away personal data like me should be ok

Giving away age is fine but giving away other personal data is really bad

Age is generally something you shouldn't give away on the internet for any reason.

ninjaswat

I have a feeling no one on chess.com that I don't know irl knows my age.

laserpro1234

this isn't the time to guess. also... what I do on chess.com is more ambiguous than you might think.
