Mixing it up

So I've been running a chess club for awhile now and I'm looking for a few ways to mix it up after the kids get back from their break (Kind of like a "welcome back" event). I've already got a few things, a huge roll out board accompanied by 32 chess vests (vests so I don't have to worry about size) so we can play human chess. Got a bunch of chess themed snacks in mind and trying to come up with a couple more ideas, so let me know if you have any. Tons of space (should be more then enough for anything really) and time isn't a big issue.

Bullet human chess would be a giggle

Very cool idea! Sounds like the kids will have a lot of fun!

I'm interesting in hearing how the human chess game itself is played.

Are the respective sides themselves playing the game as a team?
Or are there perhaps two players controlling each side giving commands to the pieces?

One option is to make the entire event team based.
Where each team can have their own unique name and aims to take points against the other team in various activities, where human chess is one of those activities.

The various activities is whats giving me the issue, can't think of any good ones except human chess. Oh and to answer your question, it's a vote chess type of system.

Thanks Conzipe, that gave me a few ideas. The last sentence really helped open my mind to the possibilities
