Did you request staff to change it to something else?
A courtesy reminder is greately appreciated

yes, i did ... and the response is quite slow. Still waiting
If you're working with the same support staff, their working hours will determine how quickly they get back to you. Did you provide a different username, one that wasn't similar to the original?

the thing is that i have to guess which one is available, acceptable, and which one is not. Why not open up to let me change the username myself via the portal, instead of working manually via email support? It was not me who changed the username, then why restrict to only allow me to change username again 3 months later???

My guess is that is done to prevent a member from just changing it immediately to something very similar (trying to get around filters for example).

Did you ask them to change it to randy_Panda?

my original username since I signed up with Chess.com in April 2021 was horny_Panda, and I have never initiated any change to the username. On 13 Sep 2023, i found out that the username was changed to InappropriateUsername059 without any prior notification. I could not change it back to the original name due to an error message saying that the username had just been changed on 12 Sep 2023. Upon contacting Chess.com support, I was told that due to some updated list of blacklisted/banned words, my original username, containing the word 'horny' is deemed inappropriate after the recent update although it was deemed acceptable years ago. Whilst the exclusion of the word itself is arguable, i understood the need to keep the site a family-friendly environment for all users. However, there should be courtesy reminders for the users to change their usernames instead of forcefully labeling the users with "inappropriate username". In addition, my original username was not chosen specifically to cause hurt or discomfort or to 'troll' other members.
Chess.com should look into this practice, and also should give better support for users to change their username after being changed unauthorisedly like this, instead of waiting for 3 months stuck with an awfully chosen name by some Chess.com staff
Best Regards,

Bro has unlocked a good username.

Especially when they initially approved the name and allowed you to use it for almost two and a half years.

Doesn't this remind me of Roblox when they just started removing a certain type of username out of nowhere?

I'm not familiar with Roblox. It seems to me that Chess.com decided to change their rules and penalize a user in the process. If the name was really inappropriate it shouldn't have been allowed in the first place. Asking him nicely to change his username would have been more appropriate.

This is how wokeness works.
I've lost the right to change my profile pic and my status.
Is this the face of a criminal?

Maybe?
