Can we have game analysis back?

It looks like the new Review doesn't allow you to click "show line" unless you upgrade.
Maybe I'm just remembering wrong, but I thought before I could see the lines in the old Report when it said a particular move was a blunder or mistake.

In Key Moments, when you retry the move, it would show you the line when you got it right or if you hit the Best button.

Functionally, this review thing feels like a major downgrade.

1) When going through the game I can no longer see myself on the graph, because the moves make it scroll away

2) Best moves are no longer shown on the board, making me change tabs between review and analysis for every move that was not labelled as "best"

2a) I've had this thing bug out on me and don't even show move annotation

3) The constant upselling of diamond membership is nauseating. Technically, this might be not ads, but it definitely feels like it.

As a diamond member this 'upgrade' makes me question my membership.  I used it and wondered wtf happened.  I use it for the key moments, to review my mistakes.  Now I  am wondering where the !@# it went.  Perhaps I am not looking hard enough but if they did this to sell more diamond memberships, they are doing a terrible job.  This change is fkn terrible and I don't see the point in continuing my diamond membership when they keep making this site worse and worse with idiotic changes.

edit:  I just cancelled my renew subscription to diamond membership.  This, coupled with the change to live / play,  was the final straw and I won't waste any more money on this site.  plenty of free options without paying for interface downgrades.

The Key Moments are wrapped up in the Review. When you Start Review it moves through the Key Moves, which are the Key Moments from the old report.

so why change it and make it more difficult to find compared to the old version?  The previous version is far easier

The site is constantly trying to improve and add features. Apparently they felt the review design was a better way to do what they want to moving forward. Not everyone likes change, but I'm sure that ultimately it will become liked and when it eventually changes again, some people will hate that change. That process happens with just about every change I've been around to see and I've seen topics before I started here where there were members that hated some of the changes before then.

As a Platinum member, I had game report and analyse as much as I wanted or needed, but now I can’t have the simple best moves, when my moves weren’t good, un am told to upgrade. Now I see that even Diamond members have lost features.
Clearly it’s not good enough to keep telling us that we just have to accept changes.
We want to have what we had, and have paid for, as easy as it used to be. The new and cumbersome features with useless Upgrade adds for me, are not acceptable. Stop gas lighting us to say we haven’t lost anything, when we can’t find what we used to find with one click. And after several clicks just find useless comments to the Diamond members, and nothing to us Platinum members!

Chess.com have removed features, and we don’t like it. Now I want the rest of my paid membership period refund, please. I thought a yearly payment was smart… hah! Chess.com had me there….

Maybe Martin_Stahl pointed it out what's now missing.

All I know is that I've lost something that I previously used all the time, and that's pretty sad. I don't mind new features, or even trying to sell new features (chess.com is a for profit business obviously), but it's frustrating as a paying member to have something taken away.

I think the problem here is that chess.com didn't add something new, they took an existing feature and changed it, and in the process (probably mistakenly) took away something small that they didn't realize many people used and liked.

Is there anyway we could get Key Moments back? Or add in the best lines back where I don't have to go somewhere else to see it?

They are going to keep updating the current Review feature so it will eventually have as much and more features as the previous report did, I am sure.

QSO67: Sorry, I should have been more clear.
Previously after every game I could either do Analysis, or there was a Game Report button. I was able to do as many Game Reports as I wanted, but today that stopped. It looks like Game Report has been replaced by the Game Review. And Game Review stopped working for me today and said I needed to upgrade.
It's fine if Game review is a new feature that requires a higher subscription, but I'd like to have the old Game Report back.

doesnt gold mship cover it?

Cover what?
All I know is I'm a Gold member, and I had something previously that I no longer have. Since I don't have access to the old thing and new thing at the same time to be able to really figure out what it is, I'm guessing it's that it used to show me the best lines right in the key moments, and now it doesn't. So it's not as useful if every key moment I have to go to self analysis mode. That's a lot more work and a lot less useful to me to learn from my games.

There aren't features missing for diamond. Key Moments are now Key Moves. The key moves were gone from the graph for a little bit, and those were added back (though not everyone likes the implementation currently). The best move arrows on the board should be coming back, or at least an option to turn them on.

I've asked about the discrepancy between the report option showing the engine line and now it not showing; as mentioned, I thought the new diamond only feature was the actual text move explanations.

I just really want the vertical lines back(for the key moments), the dots are somewhat in the way. With that back and the arrows it should be fine. I hope there is a feature to disable the "advice" in the future since it's usually not of any value.

m0neyball

Wow, there's no way to keep the game review graph visible when reviewing a game? Is that possible?

And, I'm a Diamond member - so this isn't a paid vs free thing. It's simply an update that has made previously simple analysis views more difficult (or impossible?) to access.

inlovewithGod

I just finished a game, and with the new changes, the key moments (whatever the new thing is called) is pretty worthless to me now. i really want to be able to see the lines of the "best moves" ive missed.
now i have to go to just self analysis to see.

Yea... annoying. This is coming back - hopefully soon.

I was asked to pass along the message that staff are aware of the concerns with the new Review and associated issues, agree with most of the feedback, and are working on fixes.

Post-game computer analysis was one of the best features of chess.com, and these changes turned it into an annoyance with the childish cartoon and worsened interface. The constant nagging for a subscription upgrade did have an effect on me: I 've just downgraded my subscription from platinum to gold.

Thanks for this, I also submitted a message to the customer service team before finding this post. The game analysis feature with arrows is the main reason why I switched to this website, otherwise I started elsewhere and didn't really want to pay or move websites.

I'm currently considering moving over or using another resource to analyse games, with arrows, until this is fixed.

Arrows will show on the Analysis tab and I know that an option for arrows on the Review tab is in the works.

I have no problem with change, as long as it is an improvement.  This and the change from 'live' to 'play' are the only two changes that I find counter intuitive and have degraded the interface.  I've already voted with my money and have cancelled my diamond membership renewal because this was one of the few key features that I used the site for.  I find the cartoonish feel of the new review annoying and tend to avoid childish products.  Perhaps it is just me, but I don't think that there was a huge outcry to change the analysis features.  This just appears to be change for the sake of change with little regards to the actual users of this feature.
