I think the Grand Prix is unusual in that they are starting with four pools. That structure is like having four separate four Player round robins before the main event. That's why the "all pools" tab doesn't present things as simply as you are used to.
If you look at just one pool at a time, the games, chat, results and standings are all visible:
Hello. This post is a shout-out to the chess.com folks to improve the site experience.
Chess.com is a great site (yes, I am a paid member) to play with people all around the world. However arguably the site is not optimized to follow / oversee chess tournaments.
I typically used chessbomb.com (it was acquired by chess.com a few years ago), which had a pretty simple and clean UI. On chessbomb you could follow live all the tournaments, it had a simple score board, chat functions and so on. However a few days ago the chessbomb URL started redirecting me to chess.com. (I presume chess.com did not want to separately keep the site alive, for whatever reason : S )
However this leads us with no good option to track tournaments. When I look at the chess.com page, let's say the ongoing FIDE Grand Prix, it is a bit of a mess. For starters the "Results" TAB is not showing anything (below screenshot), only game by game results are shown on multiple tabs, information is scattered all around the different tabs, you cannot see the users comments, and so on.
I am curious is Chess.com team is working on 1) improving the overall experience, 2) adding a chat function, and 3) cover smaller tournaments (basically chessbomb followed even smaller tournaments).
Please keep up the good work, but do something ; )
