daily puzzle streak not working correctly

I have been solving puzzles daily and suddendly the counter of the streak resetted? What gives?
My streak was at 82. I never had the impression something was off. I usually do the daily puzzle in the morning (GMT+1). Suddenly I saw that the counter was reset to 2... weird? 
This happens to me over and over again, typically already around 30-something so that I assumed it was a monthly thing (though somewhere in the middle of a month - so I next assumed the reset was based on when I joined). I think I remember that quite often, I get presented the puzzle I solved the day before a second time as new right before the reset happens.
On the other hand, I believe the streak counter is broken anyway: I remember that at least once, I accidentally hit “solution” after the first move and it still counted

Be aware: It is not by calendar day, but by chess.com day. In Denmark that means the day begin 9am. So a puzzle solved one day 8.50am and the next calendar day at 9.05am is not a two day streak!
I was at 309 but it should be 2 I checked from more but I completed all the daily puzzle
