Decline rematch button placed where new game also is

Hi,

the decline rematch button is unfortunately placed exactly where the new game button is.

If you are polite enough to actually click on decline rematch when you do not have time for another game (instead of just ignoring the rematch request), it sometimes happens that the previous opponent withdraws the rematch request just before your click. The accept/decline rematch UI changes, and a 'new 15+10' game button appears in the exact same spot where the decline rematch button was. So you end up clicking on new game, and starting a new game without intending to play.

Perhaps move the new game button where the "accept rematch" alternative was?

That would be really annoying.

If I want to play a new game I don't want to inadvertently accept a rematch.

This sort of misclick would be much more common that the attempted decline you describe.

If you are going to play another game, why would it annoy you to play the same opponent again?

A rematch is the polite thing to do anyway.

Because I don't play chess to make friends.

Indeed, the placement of the "decline rematch" and the "new game" buttons is quite unfortunate. In my case, I often go for the "new game" option, but as I click it, it changes into  the "decline rematch," so I end up declining a challenge which I would have accepted if it showed up a split second earlier. Please, redesign that interface to avoid this type of mis-clicks!

This needs addressing.  It is seemingly a small design fault but has a big impact on the playing experience.  Also it means you are forced to abandon the game which presumably counts against you in some way.

You can type /rematch to re-offer it.

vs

aborting accidentally accepted rematches (if they moved the button) which would cause a lot of grief.
