The things that get fixed are not problems. The innovations often are not improvements.

Maybe the staff and the members just speak different languages

It was stupid spider man joke. I don’t thinks mods care unless they bombard you with it. You can just say “I was kidding” and you’re good

How many more locks and warnings before this menace is banned?

Remember yrs ago, McDonald's had an actual number....like 50 Billion sold,.....or 200 Billion sold? Well eventually, the actual number became mote, and now they just say Billions & Billions sold. Kind of like Chess.com in the early days when they had 10 million members......and then 50 million......etc. At some point in time, there just gonna have to advertise........ BILLIONS & BILLIONS MUTED happy

The trick is to only do juuuuuust enough work to get by.

Imagine if they had to close ALL the spam topics, and not just the small % that are counting topics. Sure that's more consistent, but it's also a lot more work.

Allow me. I bet I could close 100 per hour. Gladly.

There are guidelines used for moderation, so there are limits wink

That has nothing to do with it.

Then I'll guess we'll never know why. And more kids will emulate this behavior to be cool.

The disrespect they show the mods is just terrible

Just like Batgirl quit because she wanted to... or, and just hear me out on this one...

or you have no idea what you're talking about.

Exactly. The forums are full of garbage.

Why does it have to be a secret? In the past I've heard david and shaun voice their displeasure too, meaning it goes higher. Why can't Danny wash off his clown makeup for 5 minutes and post a video about "our non-vision for the forums" or some such thing?

Because that's what I think it is. I think they don't care, so it's mostly "keep us out of court."

Martin_Stahl

It's not a secret. In the past it's been moderation in moderation and Off Topic has been very lightly moderated, with some exclusions.

idilis

not a problem i guess, there's a growing number of kids who want to be mods that are growing into adults, so when mods quit out of frustration, there will be easy and immediate replacements at least in quantity if not quality. similarly for members - soon replaced by kids.

at some point we'll need a chessoldfa*ts.com since chesskid.com has become chess.com.

What percentage of daily posts are in off topic?

Here's a hint:

In other words, 99% of the activity in chess.com forums is "lightly moderated."
