Here's a minor situation of curiosity...... how come I get friend request in my Yahoo E-mail......and the request doesn't show up on the site at all. When I'm having my mourning coffee, I check my computer E-mail which says.....so & so would like to be your friend. So I log in to Chess.com and there is no request.

I accidentally click the friend request on profiles occasionally and then quickly cancel them. Could be something like that.

If you didn't click on any links in the e-mail or open any attachments, congratulations, you passed the test...
Ok, thanks Martin. In the past, when I DO click the link....it says....."view request", and it always brings me to Chess.com.

Has this site given up on moderating? I know there are moderators, I just don't see any actively moderating the forums.

I don't know about the world but, in the U.S, the job market is heating up now that the pandemic is easing. Erik may be having a hard time finding help to work for free... My money is on Martin & Stumpy. They may not work much but when they do work, the're very good.

first off permanently logged in exists (ask me)
also.... the server used to be problematic (but during times at which i wasnt there) but now literally no one experiences problems
i dont know why some people try to hate a website, for all we know chess.com couldve made the service paid so feel lucky we dont need to pay to access chess.com

the server has problems all the time. you can't claim no one has issues.
on your statement in bold...
i have written previously that i do not hate the site, as some think. if i did, i would play on lichess and elsewhere and not spend time here. i start topics directing problematic issues so that staff recognizes them and, hopefully, act, to make the site great again.
