There used to be a site search feature in the sidebar menu but it has been temporarily turned off. I imagine it will be back once all site optimizations are completed.

thank you Martin. So maybe I'm not as clueless as I thought. I expected an efficient search tool would be a fundamental feature of chess.com.
Don't want to confuse or be long winded.
If I'm interested in a particular topic and want more information, how do I find and use a search function on chess.com home page? Maybe I have a page feature turned off? Where is the search feature that works like google search?
Here's an example. Say I'm reading a topic on one of the forums about playing daily chess, instead of rapid. So I'd like some more general information that's prepared by the chess.com site staff. How do I find the page that would discuss/explain the feature and allow me to make a decision to try it?
Where on the home page is the search field that I could type something like "explain the daily chess game options"?
I feel like I might have some of the useful site features accidently turned "off" in my settings. I've been to settings but don't see any relevant "green" buttons for "show search field on home page".
More generally, how do I teach myself how to best enjoy/use the many chess.com features?
