I'm not sure, but I noticed that the amount of rating you lose is significantly more than the amount you win, like, a lot more. The amount is 5 times as much as you win. I had a 2500 rating in puzzles, and I went down 197 rating in about 10 to 15 wrong puzzles because every time I win, I gain 5 points, but when I lose, I lose about 26-28, which is a huge difference.

In a math expression, it would look like this.

28 / 5 = 5 R3

26 / 5 = 5 R1

this has also been happening to me when i was 1700 after losing about 15-20 puzzles i dropped significantly like about 400+ rating lost.

at the end its very hard to choose i mean i don't know much about chess.com's system but have you guys had the same problem?

The last puzzle you missed was rated 1254. Since your puzzles rating is 2300 something, missing it cost you 21 points.

You are supposed to be able to get practically all of the puzzles rated 1000 points below you correct.

It wanted you to supply 4 moves after 1..Kg6. To do that, you have to see the mate in 10.

I'll admit it isn't that easy.

This is something I got from staff to share.

We are currently working on a significant overhaul of our puzzle difficulty system and puzzle ratings. Over time, the current puzzle rating algorithm created highly inflated puzzle ratings for our members — and consequent inaccurate estimates of a puzzle difficulty. As we roll out our new system, you may see some inconsistencies in your puzzle stats, and rating changes from puzzles solved and missed may be greater than in the past.

We ask you to wait with us just a bit longer! Since in the coming weeks we will be publishing an entirely new rating system for puzzles for all members. We’re confident it will be a major steps towards our ultimate goals:

 - Provide a more meaningful rating which correlates more closely to player’s Blitz and Rapid ratings.

 - Serve puzzles better suited for each player’s level.

 - Offer options to member who are looking for different puzzle-solving experiences.

IMO if people would focus on improvement instead of how many points they win and lose, improvement would come much faster.
