Yes, this glitch is disappointing. The split window profile would probably not be an improvement even if it did function properly.
Select game, press opponent picture and select profile
Their profile comes up on a window on the left. Pressing “daily” should show their daily stats on the right… 9 times out of 10 it shows your own…
