Move time & Lag

Hi all, long time player here, just hoping someone can provide some insight into what I believe are problems that are getting worse.

I play mostly bullet, so I think the problem is more noticeable here. It's become very apparent to me that the move timers have huge inaccuracies. I've tried recording some games I've played and there are occasions where the opponent has had as long as 1m 30s.

To answer the obvious, my internet is very good, and I do not observe similar inaccuracies on other sites.

I completely understand lag is always going to play a role, but I don't understand how another players poor internet connection should allow them greater time than the opponent.

This problem has seemingly gotten worse and worse over the past 6 months.

is anyone else experiencing the same? Has anyone found a way to measure server lag, so I can avoid playing at these worse times?

Done a bit of research and found an old thread that advises you do /ping before the start of the game. Large ping mismatch, just abort.

Needs to be some sort of mechanism stopping these sort of players playing, or at least playing bullet, until this is fixed, in my opinion.
