No Longer Able to Block Someone After They Block You

Chess.com recently performed an update to their website whereby the "block" feature no longer pops up when you hover over your opponent's name when in-game. You now have to go to their home page, go the profile drop down, and only then you can block them. Why chess.com decided to add an extra unnecessary step to do something you were able to do before with one step is beyond me. In any case, aside from removing the block feature from the mini profile pop-up, another thing it broke with this update is that you can also no longer block a player who has blocked you. This is so silly. I just played someone and I beat them in a time scramble. I can only presume that they got so enraged that they decided to block me (feel bad for people who have the emotional capacity of a cat). In any case, I would also not like to ever play this opponent again if they ever unblock me in the future (due to their poor sportsmanship and toxic personality of course). However, whenever I hover over their name in the mini-profile popup, it just says, "You have been blocked by this member". When I go to their homepage, I am no longer able to manually block them like we were able to before this recent mini-profile popup block feature removal update (see screenshot below). What gives?? Why is chess.com breaking stuff?

fr this guy was being inappropriate in a club notes and since he blocked me, I could not report him or block him for being inappropriate. I had to leave the club after that and he is not even muted even though he was saying reallllly bad stuff

I had that happen too but just once.
Somebody blocked me that I was about to block first for stupid personal messages.
And suddenly there was no way to block him at all.
No block option visible anywhere.
I reported it multiple times. Didn't get an answer back.
But after about a month or so I was finally able to block him.
