The OTF is not benefitting the chess community, it is simply a place were people discuss completely off topic useless stuff that has no business being on a chess site. For example, this forum really highlights the problem chess.com has created and must now eliminate.

don't be a jerk

lemme break it down for you:
1st (people said this one earlier): the "otfers" would move into gen discussion and rot the forums dry.

2nd: there are some good otf posts, but they get overshadowed by brainrot like the thing you linked there. stricter rules for otf? sure! but deleting it? nah

3rd: chess.com gains revenue off those people in otf. if you dont have membership and you take a look to the right of the screen, there are ads running so that chess.com makes money. not a whole lot, but mabye a couple 100 bucks a day total.

4th: i dont have anymore ideas to come up with, come back later i guess.
thanks for reading
