I’m just asking, and I don’t mean to sound mean by saying genius, bc we were saying genius, so I’m continuing the genius trend thingy, genius
I mean for someone who spends their time hating on forums, and not learning anyone’s personalities.
So you.
I do not want to agree too this petition, but I do believe that some (keyword SOME) OTF forums are meaningless.

Erm akshully 🤓
according to my calculations, I don’t really make any hating forums/ragebaits
okay nvm I’m not going down that route -_-
sometimes otf have outrageous threads like the freaky ones if you know what I mean 💀
how is this ragebait, how is it a hating forum, this is a legitimate concern about chess.com that I have. The OTF is degrading the user experience here so much that I am considering switching to Lichess.
The OTF is not benefitting the chess community, it is simply a place were people discuss completely off topic useless stuff that has no business being on a chess site. For example, this forum really highlights the problem chess.com has created and must now eliminate.
Well bc it talks about where we discuss “useless” stuff
While you can say that I dont have to go onto them, they are simply a concentration point of brainrot, they serve as a way to spread brainrot throughout chess.com. They are making brainrot more prevalent in a once-amazing website.
Look, I agree with you about the brainrot. There is a metric ton of it that festers on OTF. There's a ton of seemingly useless forums, some with use, some not. Does that constitute the elimatation/deletion/any form of removal of OTF? No, not by itself. There's better solutions than the complete removal of OTF. Think of it this way; A game adds a chatroom feature. Players from across servers can converse and interact with each-other, fortifying the community. Slowly, though, the chat starts to devolve, turning into mindless banter and insult hurling at any point. The feature itself was a success, the use is what made it bad. The solution? Create STRICTER rules and ENFORCE them. On OTF, there's practically no rules, so you can post god knows what and get away with it, as long as it abides by TOS while also breaking the norms of other gen chess topics. If chess.com were to implement stricter rules, and place mods there to actively enforce the rules, we could see improvement. People would be forced to move into clubs to post their subpar content, thus removing the clutter, and conversations with value/NOT BRAINROT conversations could occur. I have a set of rules that I'd like to propose, but there's no right way of going about it. The removal would be too far, so I think just setting and enforcing rules would help a ton.

TLDR: Don't remove, but make stricter rules and enforce them. If you read the entire post, my thanks, otherwise, thanks for at least taking a glance at my ideas.
Nah, off topics chill.
