I was following Chess.com's Tata Steel 2020 coverage for the past rounds and was surprised to see today's full video (after the live broadcast concluded) behind a subscriber paywall. All of the previous rounds were available to watch for free after the broadcast, as it's quite difficult to watch it live for many people in NA, and it's disappointing to see another great feature hidden behind another paywall.

It would really be great if this feature was made available to non-subscribers, as it has been in the past since the inception of the channel (to my knowledge).

Thank you!

You can watch Twitch without paying cash. You just have to watch ads.

@notmtwain

I'm well aware that one can watch live Twitch broadcasts without paying any money. I'm referring to the "past broadcasts" tab on Chess.com's Twitch channel where full replays for previously-streamed content is stored.

This was always available for users to watch for free after a live stream had aired, but just recently, seems to have been placed behind a subscriber paywall. One needs to be a subscriber to twitch.tv/chess to watch said content. I'm imploring the Chess.com admin team to reverse this decision. I really hope that content that was available for free in the past will remain to be so moving forward.

I found out that was a planned change to try and cover costs for the increase in event coverage and other sponsored events. Some things may be available on the YouTube channel.

One thing to note, twitch subs that link the chess.com account will get ad-free chess.com.

Really? So even if you are not a chess.com subscriber, if you subscribe to twitch, you get ad-free chess.com?

Is that policy written out anywhere?

It was posted on Facebook with the link; don't know if it has been officially posted elsewhere.

The thing that annoys me is the inability to download previous broadcasts.  I like to keep the better ones.
