Puzzle Rush "Survival" Difficulty Curve Is Balanced Poorly

Puzzle 16 is a mate in one; not the easiest mate in one, but still, a mate in one on the 16th puzzle.  All told, none of the first 20 puzzles really make me think for more than 10-15 seconds, and most don't make me think at all.  Then the difficulty skyrockets and I'm flat out done after failing 24.  It feels like the curve is maybe a tad slow at first (a mate in one on 16 lol), and then shoots up way too fast.  As a result, I'm only challenged for a very small number of puzzles.  The section where I can solve the puzzles in 30-45 seconds after a good think is maybe 2-4 puzzles.

Five minute puzzle rush doesn't feel this same way, the curve seems smoother.

I think the problem selection is the same, just without the pressure of the timer. It would be really weird for the site to have coded a different selection algorithm for the mode.

Each attempt will be different, since the puzzle pulled is random within the pool of available puzzles, so it is possible that some runs will feel or be easier than others.

I hear what your saying, and I agree it would be weird to use a different selection algorithm.  Just saying that so far it has felt very different.  Is your survival high score meaningfully better than your five minute?
