When DuckDuckGo launched their Email Protection service, I quickly reserved a short and sweet email address @duck.com. I'm honestly surprised it took this long for someone else to try using it on a website, but on September 24, someone in India used it to register here. He set a cute doge profile picture, added a friend (maybe his other account?) and he's been playing matches as recently as yesterday. Turns out he's pretty mid at chess. Anyway, I've been getting emails about my streak being paused, even though I never bothered to activate this account or set a new password on it until now. I guess the site simply doesn't stop you from using the account.
I live in America and I've never played chess. I guess if I ever want to start, I have an account now, lol. If the site administrator is around, I think it would be considerate to restrict some more activities on-site to limit smurfing and avoid spamming folks who aren't interested in Chess.com.
If the site admin wants to investigate, the US and Oslo (VPN) IPs associated with this account were me, and anything before today wasn't.
Have a great day!
