I'm new to chess and want to improve using Premium but it is hard to justify another subscription service for a student who is tight on funds. Please introduce a student discount/pricing option!

Cool idea, but I doubt chess.com will create a pricing discount like this anytime soon.

However, there are many ways to "earn" a membership such as some chess.com tournaments with memberships as prizes or forum games with membership prizes; there are many chess.com "top gifters" which are generous and sometimes create opportunities like this.

Unfortunately, there aren't too many options nowadays like this, but there are probably still a few club tournaments which offer membership prizes.

In the meantime, try making the best use of the free resources available to you. You can still improve a lot at chess with no money, or very little financial investment; I should know because for the first several years I was on chess.com, I used the free and default membership. I'd always be working on my chess and entering in the events with potential to win some membership if possible.

When will the subscription be free for students? It would be cool.

That will probably not happen but you can check the Students link at the bottom of most pages for an option.

As a newcomer to chess, I'm eager to enhance my skills through Premium, but it's challenging to justify another subscription cost on a tight student budget. I would greatly appreciate it if a student discount or pricing option could be introduced. Thank you!
