Supporting Virtual Reality online Chess

hello,

I wanna suggest to chess.com to develop VR app (oculus rift/HTC vive/windows mixed reality)  that can works cross platform with servers and website/mobile app etc.

Its really annoying that chess which is my best game ever have no decent VR game which is really Great idea to play setting on chair and with virtual board in frornt of you just like real deal.

in other side, i am one of people having hard time finding chess fans around at all to play on real board. Unfortunately there is no VR chess game supports online playing.

finally i think its from developing aspect is not alot of work in compare to majority of other VR games and with good advertising specially with chess.com massive registered players it will be peace of cake from commerce aspect. For example, you can sell the game with 3 months premium account at first , the point is keep it limited to premium subscriptions, so even after first actual game purchase you still can maintain long term.

best regards

Interesting. If they do this would they sell the headsets too?

We are not likely to do VR, but we are talking about adding more support for GDT boards and other similar boards that would allow you to play on a physical board and have your moves transmitted on site.

I recently released a VR Chess Set on halfbaked.city that supports multiplayer. Would love to do a version for Chess.com if they're interested, but otherwise if 2 people have a VR headset you can do VR chess over there

Yes. Chess.com vr app would definitely cause me to pay for premium and keep it. I would love to slam some tactics on my oculus.

I've played VR chess in a very very crummy VR chess game and coupled it with a voice phone call. The sense of genuine presence is miles beyond playing on a 2D screen. You really feel like you're across the board from another person. It's great. As the Oculus Quest 2 now has more sales than all previous VR platforms combined, it might be a worth chess.com sending a survey to paying users to find out how many of them have VR gear now.

How about support for the new VR game "Chess Club" from Odders (https://www.chessclub-vr.com)?  I think it would be great...
