From my username "Chess Kibitzer" you can guess that one of the primary reasons I created this account was to watch games more than actually playing them, and back in 2020 when the account was created, it was easy to do.
You seem to have broken something as yesterday in the late Titled Tuesday I attempted to watch games here so I went to Watch and it told me a number of the players who were playing (under Playing Now), but when I clicked on them, all I got was a chessboard with my own username, no opponent and 5 minutes on the clock. I did not select to play a game (and it didn't give me an opponent) so why did I see that, and not the game of the player I chose to watch?
(As an aside, does any member of staff actually read these? Also under Help it used to have Report A Problem with free-text which presumably was read by a member of staff. Now all I see is the typical AI bots with lists of known FAQs and nowhere to report your actual issue if it isn't "on the list")
For events like that you need to watch the games under events. You won't be able to directly watch the player games like a normal match.
