Weird new navigation on daily games after clicking button to confirm move

Sort:
Avatar of rwv37

When I click on the button to confirm a move, I want the result to be that I confirm the move. I don’t additionally want a list of my games to open up, and I certainly don’t want the current game — both the move list and the actual position on the board — to suddenly disappear.

Please revert this change, or add a settings option to turn it off, or tell me how to find the settings option to turn it off. Thank you.

I agree: I only recently started playing daily games and this behavior confused me.

I would recommend you look in settings or use the AI support bot before the forums, there is an option like that in settings that is probably described in a support article.

I will post here again once I re-find it in settings

SacrificedStoat, thank you, but:

(1) That setting has been around for a long time — years, I believe — and I have always had it set to “Stay on this game”. I suppose it’s possible that both I and nico1038 accidentally changed it within the past few days without having any memory of having done so, but I’ve got to admit that I think it’s way, way more likely that chess.com unilaterally changed it for us without informing us that they had done so.

(2) As for your recommendation of looking in settings and whatnot before using the forums, I agree that I should have done that. In my defense, though:

Chess.com constantly makes a whole bunch of changes that I find annoying without notifying us or giving us any option to turn them off. I frequently post to the forums asking for a way to disable the latest annoyance (while never getting a reply from chess.com, and almost never any useful reply at all), but I virtually always hunt through the settings and such before doing so (almost always without success). Last night, though, I frankly was totally sick of this sort of thing constantly happening, and in exasperation didn’t bother looking first.

Again, I agree that I should have.
