I support this
Who asked for the aesthetic change to club layouts? I didn't.

As far as I can remember, the site just makes "upgrades" or changes and it's too bad if you don't like it.

To clarify, you support and share my grievance as you said in our notes, not the site's change.

This reminds me of the major change that Zuckerberg decided to impose on Facebook users many years ago, that left a lot of them very unhappy!
There're risks in changing what's very familiar to users unless you're introducing substantially improved features but in this case where's the improvement? I really cannot see any and a few things are now more effort to do.

Probably like art appreciation or fashion sense. We plebs just don't get it .
Let the city burn. It's all art

As long as you use the site to complain about the site, all changes are deemed good no matter what you think. Chessdotcom is a business like Facebook. User experience plays second fiddle to profits.

It may be more fruitful to provide constructive feedback?
I would like to see some preferences, say:
1) An SA should be able to configure the landing page for her club

I thought I was the only one
apparently there's at least 26 members who agree with us
Anti-Downgrade Association | Notes - Chess.com

There's no prospect of the site reversing this change, so the best we can try to do is push until the new design works at least as well as the old.

the kids that are payed to make upgrades or in this and many cases downgrades do it solely cause they are told to do it. It justifies they're paycheck in their little world. They can't add something beneficial cause that probably takes longer hours and more brain power, thus we are left with deteriorating products.

People are assuming that the goal is improving the appeal and usability of clubs. I would guess it is more about performance and simplifying infrastructure and the UI usability downgrade is something they are aware of.
The new interface has been an active deterrent to my postings in clubs already. Not because it is different, but because it is more cramped looking and harder to use.

I do not think the new layout is made to conserve server resources.
I wish people here could provide constructive feedback on how to tweak or evolve the new layout. You are not getting the old one back.

Make it similar to the old one, or at the least add notes on the group home page again and move the forum search back to side.
That isn't impossible, so why not do it?
I do not like it and I'm sure I'm not the only one.

Funny but I don't recall there ever being a poll and yet there's no option to choose a layout? It's an unnecessary change to the notes. People were already used to the layout, probably nobody asked for this? The change fixes nothing and makes navigating things worse, in the sense that people were used to the prior layout. Now, a lot of people won't bother to post.

The effect is already noticeable in the deterioration of activity and decline of discussion. I'm sure others will collaborate. Besides, this ain't the first time there's been a purely cosmetic change. The way to improve something isn't to change what's not broken. Is there a way to opt out of this and choose a club layout, given the choices for prior v2 site versions in the past?
