Under US Chess and FIDE rules, the players get the increment time as part of their time to complete move one. For example, for 3+2 each player gets 3:02 (three minutes and two seconds), not 3:00, to complete move one. Chess.com only gives the players 3:00 to complete move one. I think it would be good if Chess.com would add the increment time for move one, even more so since US Chess rated tournaments are played on Chess.com.
If you don't understand the point I'm making about having the increment applied for move one, take a look at the clock at the start of the game in the video linked below, which was the deciding game of the 2019 World Blitz Championship. The time control was 3+2 and you can see that each player started the game at the beginning of move one with 3.02 (three minutes and two seconds) on their clock.

Also, under the formula Chess.com uses to determine what category time controls fall under, (total = base time + 40*bonus)", a 5+0 and a 3+3 game would add up to the same amount of time but that would actually only be the case if for 3+3, the increment was given for move one.
G/5;inc0: 5(minutes of base time) + 40 x 0(seconds of increment time) = 5 minutes of base + zero seconds of increment time = 5 minutes of total time
G/3/inc3: 3(minutes of base time) + 40 x 3(seconds of increment time) = 3 minutes of base + 120 seconds of increment = 5 minutes of total time. However, with Chess.com currently not giving the increment time for move one, you are really only getting 39 moves worth of increment time for a 40 move game and thus in reality are only getting a total of 4 minutes and 57 seconds in this example.
A travesty!
Do you think that's one of the reasons increment is so unpopular here?
chess.com CEO Erik reported that games with increment accounted for less than 10% of the top 9 time controls. (Why 9? He didn't say.)
I would have no problem if they added it but I think they have had bigger problems to fix over the last year.
