Changing Apple account on iPhone app

Hello, I created my Chess.com account through my iPhone.  Unfortunately, I set it up under a different Apple account.  Now, I would like to upgrade my Chess.com account, but only under my new Apple account.  I would appreciate if someone could help...

Hi Sean,

What you'll need to do is this:

  1. Open the settings app
  2. Navigate: Settings > iCloud

Make sure the Apple ID at the top is your current one.

Next, open iTunes or App Store apps, and scroll to the bottom. Make sure that one is logged in to your new account.

After that, you can open the Chess.com app and purchase a premium account and pay for it through your new Apple ID. Alternatively you may visit the Chess.com website via a computer and upgrade your Chess.com account there. The perks will appear on your iPhone as well.

GamingPhoenix0:

Thanks, but your advice did not work.  On the chess.com app, in Settings, there is no iCloud option.

For the record, I did solve the issue. This is the procedure I followed:

-- I deleted the app from my iPhone, and reinstalled the app, this time being sure I was logged into my correct Apple account name.

-- Then, I logged into the chess.com app (using FaceBook).  My settings (sounds, board views, lessons reviewed) were gone, but my games (current, past, and rating) were intact.

-- I upgraded; this time, successfully.

Ah, I meant your iPhone settings, my apologies. Glad it worked out in the end though.
