Looking for a female friend/gf/life partner/wife based on their interest in chess is a very short sighted and I'd say a dumb idea. I would hope that if I met a girl who said she liked me that it would not be because I play chess. What if she plays scrabble or crosswords? Many more women play those games. Even those interests wouldn't say much about the person, especially a woman.

People who want to meet someone should look for someone who likes them for who they are, with whom you can be yourself, and hopefully they can be themselves, without putting up a front and trying to impress each other all the time. What is also important is the mutual desire to be together despite eventual aging. Interest in chess can come and go, it's not a good criteria.
