If for no other reason than security, you should quit using IE.
I feel like I'm as secure as I need to be; I use the internet mostly for newspapers, email, youtube and blitz chess, no porn, and I've never had issues. Microsoft products had security issues 15 years ago, but my sense is that they've upped their game since then to the point where my old joke "Harry Potter and the secure, reliable systems from Microsoft" isn't funny anymore.
Oh, and I just noticed you're a Dodgers fan. I grew up in LA, used to be a fan during the Alston/Lasorda years, but then they abandoned their commitment to excellence and became just another content provider. How about that game last night? I followed it on another tab in between blitz games, it went on for 18 innings, two whole baseball games, but only one decision. All the planning for the pitching rotation for the next 2-4 games went out the window.

I work in IT, and IE seems to have more problems than any other browser. Between being a security hole and it not being compatible with a number of sites, it is the worst browser out there.
Online advertising subjects users to a higher risk of infecting their devices with computer viruses than surfing pornography sites.
That's why I have AdBlockPlus. I've heard of something called UBlock which might be even better. Even chess.com has "noticed that you are using an ad blocker." I will turn off the adblocker if Erik whatshisname, the owner of this site, signs an unlimited personal indemnity for any damages I might suffer from malicious ads. As a retired California lawyer, I would advise him not to sign such an indemnity, so my adblocker will remain on for the foreseeable future.
Every time I log on, I get a popup "Chess.com works best with modern, updated browsers" and Chrome and Firefox are the suggested alternatives. I'm still using Internet Explorer because I'm 63 y.o. and have been using it a long time, and I resent having to spend a second every login clicking a popup (that doesn't even have an X in the upper right corner anymore; you have to guess where it is) to close it. If I ever change browsers, it won't be on account of scolding from this website, the scolding actually stiffens my resolve. IE works fine for blitz games; it's not Microsoft's fault I lost all those games, that would be something known in the IT community as "PEBKAC". You are visiting gratuitous annoyance upon your users. Please stop.
