i totally agree with you. chess fantasy all kind of things would be great. 

we do have chess variant like dragon like this

Why? v3 works great and I believe it has more to do with keeping access rights in synch between the two versions. Not 100% sure though.

IF the idea is to have a single point of view, they don't need to be 3D renders, jsut clever taken 2D pictures... if you want to rotate the camera around the board... well... then you do need the real 3D...

All of them is realistic chess since covid 19 I haven't play real board chess just online every day it ok for me.
