Intentional games delay

Even though this is not an urgent matter, it's an idea i thing it might be taiken into account to address this issue.

I have noticed that some players while entering in a daily basis to make their moves in the online chess section, intentionally postergate the moves in those games their are about to lose.

I came to the idea that, if every time a player makes a move in any of his online games, a percentage of the time left in every game of that player is taken away he would be pushed to move in all his games and not only the ones he chooses.

All the games would be played quiker, players won`t lose interest in the game and tournaments length might get shorter.

If they are using vacation time to prolong lost games, you can report it to the staff. Otherwise, you agreed to the time control. It may be unethical, but I don't think it violates the rules.

To your idea: That wouldn't work well with people who are chess.com addicts. Some have more than 100 games at once! I've got around 50, and I wouldn't be thrilled if they implemented that idea.

No, im not talking about vacation issues and you may be right about those who have lots of games, but i think that if the percentage is well adjusted it would cause the moves you make to be more distributed in all your games and not focused in some of them.

It doesn't matter if your opponent is playing in each of his other 499 games, studying rocket science, swimming across the Atlantic, or even just holding down the 'Submit Move' button on his game with you; no matter what your opponent is doing with his time, he is entitled to do so! If you aren't comfortable with your opponent moving precisely once every 71.9 hours, then here's a thought: don't play 3day/move games!

What my idea intends to do is not stealing peoples private property nor installing a communist dictatorship. However, i believe it would improve the time performance of tournamets, team matches and games in general.

I know. Your idea involves agreeing to play in a game with X days per move, and then expecting that all of your opponents understand and agree that that means "You better not take X days to make your move." And that's just insane. If you get frustrated easily by that sort of thing, then before accepting a game (or entering a TM/tournament/etc) then assume that your opponent will make his move 1 second before his time is up each and every time it's his turn. If you're not comfortable with that pace, then choose a slower time control.
