Let the user celebrate awesome moves

Know that feeling when you find that one winning move and you know that executing it will surprise your opponent?

In an OTB game (with a friend, maybe some drinks involved, not in a serious environment) you would add some effect to it, like doing the move a bit louder that normal, followed by a HA-HA, grinning or whatever.

Now let's do that in online chess. Allow the user to add some graphic effect to one single move per game, maybe for a small fee if non-premium, that will be played when the opponent views the move.

  • a forking knight jumping KABLAAAM to the square, then pointing guns at both attacked pieces
  • batteries like queen+bishop start setting up a machine gun
  • Skewers actually skewing. Blood, gore and everything.
  • Explosions!
  • ...

Since some people may be less childish than me, make that an opt-in feature. Active only for those who use it themselves.

Id like to see a rook turn into a steamroller and flatten the other pieces like pancakesSmile

Would be annoying as hell and spammed. Maybe it's a better idea for chesskids.com

We will need a new FIDE title: SAEM [sadist and explosion master]

Or we could animate the king as an old geezer yelling at young punks to turn down the dang music.
