notes in live chess

Here it was pointed out to me that the "notes" tab is only available for online chess. Why disable note taking in live chess? It would still be a useful feature for post-game analysis.

As things are right now, keeping track of one's comments on live chess games would have to involve PGN's, third party software or commenting with an annotation. It would be nice to have the feature integrated.

Doggy_Style

1. It's against the rules of chess to write anything other than a game score, during a (live) game of chess.

2. You play mostly blitz and bullet. How do you think you'll have the time to write contemporaneous notes?

3. Most speed chess is unworthy of notes or serious study.

Thanks for your answer. As I said in my original post I'm mostly interested in a way to integrate my own post-game analysis into my archived games. That way I can go back and look at all the mistakes I made and have my own explanation there waiting for me, without having to reason through the whole position again. I'm not so interested in taking notes during a game.

It's true I play some blitz and bullet, but I would mostly use the feature for analyzing 15|10 games, which is what I spend most my chess time on.

Doggy_Style

1. Create a new group, with you the only member.

2. Post each game to be examined in a separate group forum.

3. Grab the PGN file from the chosen game, inserting it into the game editor supplied.

4. Write notes into the game editor, explaining your thoughts and analysis.

5. Repeat the process, underneath, with another moving game board, but this time grab the PGN file contained within the "Computer Analysis".

6. Compare and contrast.
