Please remove vote chess fog of war

I'm talking about the fact that you can't see what has been voted for until you place a vote yourself. This bit:

3 Current Votes

  • 21. e6 (67%, 2 Votes)

  • 21. Nxc5 (33%, 1 Vote)

As most teams that I play in will constantly repost this info in the comments anyway, what is the point of it? If anything it will encourage better team play if it's removed. Maybe have an option for those teams that (for whatever reason) want it on there.

most team discuss what they might move for the first half of the time.

Discussion gives all the member a view of different moves and also might make you change your mind over the move you like.

Then a moderator says that it is voting time. Then someone post the voting so others can see how it is going.

I like it the way it is set up.

I like how its setup too. Removing the fog would kinda be defeating the purpose of vote chess. And so does forcing players to make a particular move...but I digress

I don't really see it as "forcing" players to make a particular move, but quite the opposite. I believe vote chess should be more about discussion as a team and then voting. The way it is set seems to encourage people to vote without discussing or even thinking.

BorgQueen's idea about admin controls on the voting is interesting. I think I would like that. Especially considering many teams have to write a code of conduct (or something similar) to stop the wreckless voting and usually have a rule about a captain calling when the vote will take place.

Pre_VizsIa

It's reckless, and it's certainly not wreckless as it causes many a game to end in a wreck.

It would be nice for a Team to decide to play in "the fog of war" or not; having an option would be nice.

I too, would like some other changes, like changing from 3 day moves to 2 day moves at the end of a game when you only have a few pieces and the choices are limited, to move the game along.

I would rather they make different changes to VC, like an option for admins to set when voting can be allowed to commence... and/or the ability for admins to see who's voting for what and when (even if that data is only available for the current move) so that saboteurs can be identified.

Well I do...

yue5000 I guess it is just how you look at it. If you are confident in your move and can justify it, then who cares who sees it.  If you are worried that your team will say something about it then either you are on the wrong team or you don't want to learn from their input (that is assuming they are being adult about it and trying to help a fellow teammate understand). I'm glad you like a private vote but at times I see the need to know who is just not taking it serious and voting 30 seconds after the other team votes like it is blitz..it's not, most games have a nice time limit so what is the rush?  I just wish team had an option to turn it on or off.
