Suggestion for posts by members with closed accounts

As I understand it, members who close their accounts or have their accounts closed for cheating have all their forum contributions deleted as well. While I don't agree with this, I guess thems the rules as dictated by chess.com

What is also frustrating though is that all the post numbers change as well. Consequently, if someone has referred to a certain post number in a thread, another person following the thread a few months later cannot know which post the earlier poster was referring to as all the post numbers get thrown out of order.

Perhaps one solution would be to delete the post and the name of the poster whose account gets closed but just leave a blank space in there instead. This way the post numbers stay put. What do you think chess.com?  Surely this has been brought up before? I refuse to believe that someone of my meagre intellect is the first one suggesting this.
