Tactics Trainer Acting abnormally slowly

I've recently gotten back into tactics trainer, its like a love-hate relationship between us, and I found that the reaction times have severely changed for the worse.  Before, I would do a problem, and once I made my move, it would either finish or continue almost instantly.  Now, I've had to wait almost a whole minute to do a single 3-step problem because after each move I make, the trainer does not make any action for a while.  This is not solely today, it has been happening for a while now.

Yeah,I hv similiar problems with it .. since I started a few days ago ... it keeps hanging n' I hv to close the window and start over if I don't wanna wait .(and loose a lot of points too ) .. and sometimes,it doesn't even make the move at all until time's up !

.. sometimes,my moves can't get registered too !

I thot it was juz my internet connection being slow .

Are you two using Fire Fox? I'm having trouble two, and I'm using Internet Explorer, which I'm trying to figure out how to get rid of.

Kikyo_Sushi

Yup,Firefox .

R u trying to get rid of IE or d problem ? ... Laughing

It isn't just TT with me, though that's part of it. A lot of the time, when I try to make a move or click on some question, It will say "Internet Explorer cannot display this web page" It's beginning to piss me off big time. It says I should click on diognose connection problem, but when I do it says there isn't one. I was wondering if Fire Fox does the same thing. Sometimes on TT, just the TT window will blank out, and say that.

In my opinion,Firefox is much better ( I like its privacy options) ... I don't like IE !

Nope,I don't hv those problems with Firefox.

gorgeous_vulture

I have this sporadically. It can be to your advantage, however. I've dragged my rating up a couple of hundred points recently, in part because when TT freezes I get longer to look at the problem !

Conflagration_Planet

How do you change to Fire Fox? I installed it once, and my computer ran slower, so I removed it again. Somebody said I have to remove IE, but I don't know how.

Thanks for the post. That clicking on Windows Component was what I didn't understand. When I installed Fire Fox before, it started running real slow. I was thinking it was because I had also had IE installed. I uninstalled it before installing Fire Fox this time, so I'll see how it works.

Thanks again! That "IE cannot display this web page." popping up every few minutes was frustrating beyond all imagining.

Kikyo_Sushi

Np, Yeah , but I can imagine tho ! Laughing

Ya, I found out that Chess mentor is also acting this way.  I find that chess mentor has a bunch of weird problems.  I clicked "correct square" and it registered as back one move and "correct piece."

I also find that the delay in TT does not affect my score, it just isn't doing anything.

I'm using Firefox and my mac, although I don't think either of those have any effect, as we see from the wide range of sufferers.
