Timeouts

I'm a newbie here and I have some questions about timeouts.

1.  I've got a few games going; none completed yet apart from two that timed-out after only 1 or 2 moves - so I got the wins.  I now show 2 wins out of 2 on my stats.  I understand that this is because I have the claim win setting in my settings, but wouldn't it be better if you could do this after a certain number of moves?  It doesn't feel right that I have these wins, but if my opponent had timed out when, say, check-mate was almost inevitable - that would be different.

2.  I see my rating didn't change after my 2 wins, which I think is right.  But going back to the 'check-mate inevitable' scenario, does your rating still not get adjusted in these circumstances?  If so, that seems a little unfair.

3. When searching for games to play. is there a way to exclude people above a certain timeout percentage?  One of my opponents has a 50% and I would not have started if I'd known.
