It says that it's good until that date, but it comes up every time I go to the site to log on. How can it be secure if you check the certificate it is somebody else's.

I wanted to upgrade but since it isn't secure I will not put my credit card numbers.

erik

please make sure your computer clock is set correctly! what year does your windows computer say it is? :)

the site is 100% secure and uses encrypted SSL.

Does someone really read this blogs that work for chess.com that cares and will do something about it?

I sent a question to the upgrade section but there has been no response to me.

Erik:  Maybe if you try to log on, not from within your company. My clock is fine.

Your site is the only one that has this pop up that comes up and it let's me check the certificate. It belongs to someone else.

I tried to copy the pop up to send it to you but it won't allow a copy to be made.

Oh I checked the clock again and it says

Wednesday December 14, 2011.

I verified it because it is my 74 th brithday today.

It is the day I was going to upgrade to chess.com

                              Bye for now

thanks. we just found out that there is an odd issue with a 3rd party service. fixing it now.

the reason i mentioned the clock issue is that we have seen that be an issue before.

I know that the clock will cause problems if the year is wrong, but when more people are having a problem then it's not the case.

It did say chess.com was using  443 certificate not assigned to you.  It was issued by GTE it give the assigned user.

I will sign up as soon as the pop up doesn't come up.

                        bye . . . .  Denver

 Happy Birthday my friend!

The certificate they are using is valid only for:

  a248.e.akamai.net , *.akamaihd.net , *.akamaihd-staging.net

Looks like apache or nginx or whatever is serving their content over SSL is not using the correct certificate that it used to use.

Yesterday when I posted that, I logged out and went to the secure logon page. That page has the correct, valid certificate with no errors. And it is valid for the whole chess.com domain (*.chess.com).

Are you signing in on the main page?

Should all be working now

Erik:

It has been been working for me since last night. I have logged in last night several times.

Also not a problem this morning.
