Wheres the main chat?

I originally, when I signed up for this cite, found a window in the chat sections, that said; "Main Chat". Since then, I have been wondering why this has happened. If anyone has any explaination for this, I will be very grateful.

OK.  This thread was about closing the Main Hall which was a kind of free for all forum over on the Live Server.  I think your question is about an individual game, am I right?  If your opponent has disabled chat, then you won't even be able to wish him "good luck and let's hope we have a great game" because there's no place to type.  It can be disconcerting and then annoying, which means your opponent is already inside your head...not an optimum way to start. 

I guess folks have a bad experience or two and just decide it's not worth the hassle.  I like being able to get a feel for the other person by talking to them; maybe I'm just nosy.
