Tactics Trainer isn't about "analyz[ing] the positon." It's about pattern recognition.
That said, I believe there is an untimed mode.

I see that you are right, there is an unranked untimed setting. That is perfect as I care more about the learning and nothing about what my "rank" is. Thanks.
Using tactics trainer in the timed rated mode has the advantage that it will tend to present you with problems appropriate for your current tactics strength.
In addition, doing tactics this way has the thrill of competing within limited time, which comes close to an important component of real over-the-board play.

If you didnt care about your rank then why were you concerned about the timed nature of the ratings?
I find it frustrating to get a nearly full board in tactics trainer and then even though I made the correct move I get a 20% score for taking 40 seconds to analyze the position both sides are in and then look over the possible actions and plans.
If I'm doing something that is supposed to help me improve on tactics, why would it rush me and encourage me to make more mistakes in order to try and move fast?
