In the calculation of 'biggest upset', the rating used is the rating AFTER the game. Before the game, you were 1207 and beat a 1377. However, after the game, you were 1226 and your opponent became 1366. So 1366-1226 = 140 which is 3 less than 1364-1221.

I am playing in the 6th Chess.com Thematic Tournament - Gruenfeld (1201-1400)
How is the biggest upset calculated?
I was rated 1207 and beat a 1377. However on the tournaments page it states
"Biggest Upset: 1221 defeats 1364".
I asked support @ chess.com staff and the answer I got from Julie Howells was:
Biggest Upset: 1221 defeats 1364 which is 3 points greater in difference sorry.
I replied with: This is my first tournament, I am still having trouble determing the points and rating system. How is this calculated? 1207 is less than 1221 and 1377 is greater than 1364. Thank you for the help!
However no reply. So here I am turning to the forums for help. Can anybody here explain it to me? Thanks in advance.
