Changing up vacation limits

Right now when setting up tournaments, we get two options regarding allowing vacation time "Allowed" or "No Vacation".  But that doesnt make sense.  I have no problem saying that time control is three days, but allowing vacation just to not have someone's game end if they do go on a vacation with no internet, get sick, work life gets insane, or anything like that.

The problem though, is the people who have multiple months of vacation saved up, and then leave the site without forfeiting all of their tournament matches first.  I think everyone who has played in a tournament has seen the end of a round where there are a few dozen games left, but at least half of those games we havent seen a move in months, and the player in question is still going to hold up things moving on for yet another month.  Those players rarely if ever return to the site.

Why isnt there a third option for vacation to for example make it something like "Vacation Allowed", "No Vacation" and then have the option of "One Week Vacation Allowed".  It still lets players who need to use vacation do so, and doesnt punish the entire tournament when one player flakes from the site?

People have legitimate vacations (or even work trips) when they are off the grid for longer than a week. You are making the slippery slope argument that 7 days is better than 30 days max (for free accounts) and 90 days max (for premium users),  Ask 10 other people and you will get 15 different opinions.

That's why the site sticks to the black and white contrast: zero vacation or vacation allowed. I stick to zero vacation after some bad experiences. Live chess is better anyways due to less cheaters.
