Daily Tournament time control.

Has the idea of using a more traditional time control for the daily tournaments ever been considered. Currently, a game can have 3 days/move, which can go on a long time. What if there was an option for something like 1 day/move +72 hours. With this, you would get 1 day/move, but after that initial day, you start eating into your 72 hours. I think this would encourage people to play a little more regularly and not have a single bracket in a tournament last about a year!
