Do you wanna see the BEST chess.com playing?

Anybody just using Rybka would get absolutely crushed in this tournament.  The best use their own ingenuity along with an engine.

aansel

well it is interesting that the lowest rated player in section 1 of this tournament has a FIDE rating over 2400 --be interesting to see how he does.

costelus

Ingenuity? Ha ha ha! Just making sure you run Rybka on sufficient depth!

On ICC such a tournament would be won by the person who will be banned the last (there all the truly great players we "admire" here are labelled as cheaters). Given that all of them are paid members, I can bet that none of them will be banned by chess.com.

Happy cheating!

This is simply not true, paying members are regularly banned for cheating. Unfortunately, Erik does not seem to bother updating his list any more...

costelus

Although it might look paradoxically, I also trust chess.com cheating detection methods. In the case of such blatant cheaters it is extremely easy to see what is human and what is computer play.

Unfortunately there is a long way for chess.com between detecting a cheater and banning him. Ban too many cheaters --> lose money (from their membership fees).

Oh my God! Ouachita is even more intelligent than George Bush (whom I thought to be the smartest human ever). Only due to his unimaginable intelligence, Ouachita obtained a PhD from MIT, he is the best chess player in the history, Mensa member and avid user of F-words on any occasion.

goldendog

There's no need for me to be envious of 'chita. I can plug in rybka anytime.

...and what's Reb have to be jealous of? He's a NM and has a genuine FIDE rating. I can't say that of certain tale-spinners here.

ROFL.

There ya go.

Kacparov

I'll watch the games as well :)

come on . . . .

I guess it's not possible to play a couple of non-rybka-preferred moves and then turn the machine on?

Do us all a favour, button it.

Why is everybody so angry? Just because you have suspicions that you can't prove doesn't give you the right to label others as cheaters.

It has been proven to the satisfaction of many of us, examine post #142, SteveCollyer's analysis proves that either Oh-You-Cheater is the greatest player that ever lived or he is an engine user:

Of course I am angry. I find it a disgusting and cynical attitude of chess.com: say they fight against cheating while letting some idiots play hundreds of games at 95-100% agreement with an engine.

Look, nobody has ever expected to get rid of all the cheaters. But, in the case of the most blatant ones, you really have to make an OUTSTANDING effort to ignore the overwhelming evidence against them. What would motivate such an effort? 3 choices, pick the one you like:

1. money

2. cheating ignorance

3. stupidity

Even this thread will soon be closed, as chess.com denies that there is any cheating on their "wonderful" site.

My rating isn't that good but I think it correlates well to my Tactics Rating on chess.com. I wonder if there should be a timed rating exam to prove that you are a certain level? The time should be fast enough as not to let the test taker be able to set the position up in a computer or look for help online. I take the test in chessmagnet and it's real close to my OTB rating. My online rating here is about 200 points higher than my OTB rating. I attribute that to all of the bonus points I accrue from timeouts and no time pressure though.

It is sad for those that feel like they get something from cheating.

BTW - I read that post as recommended and I would be inclined to agree that nobody can play that well. However, I am a pushover for the outliers and miracles so I'll keep playing the fool and not worry about ouchita and the other phenoms of online chess.

I would like to see them play OTB in real life though.

Eric should have an annual chess.com OTB members only tournament. I'd probably fly to Vegas for that.

Have you ever thought maybe Ouachita was actually kasparov but he doesnt want anyone knowing?

Therefore, I would appreciate if you don't express your "personal" points of view on that subject here.

If you feel they are cheaters, it is your personal opinion. Chess.com already works on that so you don't have to keep posting anything here. Don't make me lock this forum. Thanks!

Very often, but I cannot explain why Kasparov, even retired, plays much much better than at the peak of his career.

Because its CC chess and he can think for days, and with that brilliant mind hes unstoppable :), and thats why ouachita once said i know they engine but ill crush them.., Kasparov can beat some engines by thinking long enough, but thats why he draws alot also, because people engine and he cannot fidn a winning move.

costelus

I got it. So Ouachita is Kasparov! Quite a retarded Kasparov if he copies-paste analysis done by others on chessbase, while being unable to explain any of his moves. Also, a Kasparov who was convinced that FIDE ratings expire.

OK, so who is loper10? Anand?
