Elimination rules in chess.com tournament

Hello,

I have the following open question (including anyone from chess.com): is it possible that a tournament that states that 3 players will proceed to the next round changes that after it has started? This is what happened, here:

https://www.chess.com/tournament/2018-chess-classic-tournament3

It is a four-player group in the third stage, where it is said that the best 3 will advance. I finished 3rd (tied with 4th), but only two players appear as classified. I know that changing this would create the strange case that no one is elimnated at this stage, but this is what it implies, isn't it?

My understanding is that the maximum number of advancing players in a round is 1/2 the group size for that round (rounded down if group size is odd).

That makes sense, but what confuses me is that although in that particular round it is stated that 3 players advance, only 2 have done so in each group. I guess there is nothing that can be done now, so let's consider it a mistake...

The initial advance number for a tournament does not apply to every round.

In the third round, your group size was four. That's why only two players advanced.
