How do you add time?

I am playing 2 games against another player. When I woke up this morning the player had less than 2 hours left in each game to move. I just checked it again now (about an hour later) and he had 25 hours left in each game. I am aware I do not know all the ins and outs of tournaments, but how does one add a full day to his or her time?
