Is this suspicious?

A player in one of my tournaments has been playing extremely well with accuracy in the 90s and game ratings of 2000 plus - they are rated around 1750.  When I checked their game history I can see that they joined less than a month ago but have already lost 204 daily games. When I looked at these games in more detail the majority appeared due to this player starting a game but then resigning before playing a move.  This apparently does not effect their rating and they appear to be doing this almost daily.  Why would somebody do this and is this suspicious?

Hi. This is highly suspicious. I would consider getting rid of this player, if at all possible. Sounds like a cheater.

I’m guessing the player in question does this in an attempt to hide the fact that he’s cheating when it matters. Those losses are aborted games, are they not, when it’s registered as a loss, yet you don’t lose rating points.

Hi ChessFantasy, I think that is why they are doing it as well. It's not very subtle.

I've reported them to chess.com and will try and remove them when they have finished their remaining two games. I will start checking player histories more closely from now on as this behaviour spoils the tournament.angry
