Im showing that you were awarded 111 points for that tournament. To see them, you can look at your full stats page here: http://www.chess.com/echess/stats/rustypipes . If they are not showing on that screen for you, try a hard refresh by pressing Ctrl + R. That should display your points.
It shows at the tourney results that they awarded me 111 points but my current score has not went up 111 points? it has been in the low 1200-1235 for a while. I tried Ctrl+R.?????
OK, now I understand. Tournament points and ratings are two different numbers. Tournament points are just points one acquires for doing well in tournaments. Your rating, which is what has been in the 1200-1235 range, is a measure of how good your chess is compared to the other players on this site. Your rating goes up with each win, and down with each loss. Tournament points, once earned, cannot be lost. I still don't undestand quite, points? perhaps, i wonder is for the purpose of playing in a tournament, rating is normal (rate of performance).Questinos here is to really register oneself for tournament as per said?
my friend at school told me if i play chess online for more than a hour a day, that i am cosidered to be coming out of the closet soon what does this mean and is it true?
ChefBoyRG, i hope your kidding, but if not, your buddy at school is being an A**... He is trying to say playing chess is a form of telling everyone your gay, (coming out of the closet). No offense anyone. AND NO, it is not true, chess is just a game or hobby for most of us. Some just enjoy it more than others. On a positive note, some say that chess increases your IQ because it stimulates certain thinking patterns in your memory, if this is true or not, I do not know, but it something to think about.
