Petition: Invite Hou Yifan and Nazi Paikidze to commentate on Womens' WCC

As some of you may already know, the Womens' WCC will begin in a few days (on Feb. 10 to be exact). Hou and Paikidze, although both elite female players, will not be competing in the championship for personal reasons. Their unique perspectives on this year's championship and on playing against other female players, however, make them both great candidates for commentators of the event. As such, I am hereby starting a petition wherein

We the chess fans urge FIDE to invite Hou Yifan and Nazi Paikidze to serve as commentators for the 2017 Womens' WCC. As active elite chess players, they are more than qualified to analyze and comment on the games. Moreover, their coverage of the WCC is sure to attract additional attention to the championship, given their outspoken positions on the championship and other related matters, thus generating greater interest in chess and publicity for FIDE.

If you too would like to see this dream duo in action at the Womens' WCC, please add your names to the petition!

Could you please stop being so offensive? Paikidze is not even a GM and Hou Yifan is not even 2700 GM.

I like Peter Svidler.

So no, either pay me 10 bucks or Im not signing that thing.

Sometime I wonder why I help macer's threads take off.

Ill acuse him of bribery.

Anna Rudolf, Tania Sachdev, Jennifer Shahade and Lawrence Trent are not GMs either, yet they all do a fine job commentating. Typically the commentator duo for a tournament consists of one GM (who is not necessarily 2700+) and one non-GM. Hou and Paikidze together fill both roles perfectly.

Then again, a lot of the GM's are actually Garbage Masters, so they arent actually any good at chess.

For example?

Schadev only has a pretty face, Shahade, I dont even know why he is there, Anna Rudolf, meehh, Lawrence Trent is acceptable.

The best commentating setup is when both guys are men and they are GMs.

Have you ever seen Peter Svidler and Jan Gustafson together? Or Svidler and Hansen?

BronsteinPawn

Geez, see, I talk in this thread and everyone comes.

Everyone? So far 4 people have commented in this thread, including me and you. And of the other two one commented before you did.

Joseph_Truelson

You've made half the comments, lol

Just to show you the power of bribery.

Hou Yifan's interview already has 21k views.

See what I mean about attracting public attention? This is a golden opportunity! FIDE needs to invite her IMMEDIATELY!

You should make one of those useless yet common petitions on change.org.

36k views now! Looks like it might break 100k by the start of the Womens' WCC! Mainstream news outlets are already picking up on the story, just like they did with Nazi Paikidze's announcement. Needless for me to say, chess normally doesn't receive anywhere close to this amount of attention. So what are you waiting for FIDE? This is a once in a lifetime opportunity!

Paikidze opted out of the tournament due to various objections, having them commentate would be peculiar.

Hence they should commentate.
